Lily Cole takes things to a new level in Marilyn Manson directorial debut film: ‘Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll’.
Premise:
Victorian England.
A haunted writer in an isolated castle is tormented by sleepless nights and visions of a girl named Alice. He finds himself becoming a symptom of his own invention.
“Now all my nightmares know my name.”
He is Lewis Carroll. Terrified of what waits for him each night.
Manson said, “It’s about the period in his life where there was a real split, It’s a very Jekyll-and-Hyde sort of story. It’s based on his diaries, and it’s all very factual.”
The movie also stars Tilda Swinton, as Lewis Carroll’s dream wife. But it is Cole that continues to astound, and proves that she’s a star in the making, one who’s not afraid to take chances as she opens the gates to her artistic abilities.
